A very Happy New Year to you all! The first week of January has lapsed. The New Year’s resolutions are set in to action. Are you following Veganuary? Or made a commitment to Dry January? Or vowed to follow through with weight loss or had a targeted diet plan diet made for you?

Are diet plans necessary to achieve your weight loss goals? Are they necessary in order to balance your hormones or achieve optimal gut health?


Diet Plan

The best diet plan is the one that is designed specifically for you. A bespoke diet plan should be made with YOUR health goals in mind. It will serve as a guide through a field of confusion. A lot of people can’t comprehend why they have to eliminate certain foods and resist the elimination because sometimes healthy foods can be the triggers to your chronic diarrhoea for example. Sometimes we just like to follow the herd and eliminate foods that we might actually need for hormonal imbalance. Perhaps the grocery store protein bar is exactly what’s causing your weight gain?

A guide that you can follow by yourself also makes you feel independent in meal choices. If you are preparing the meals by yourself that are recommended on a diet plan, then you are directly involved in making your health choices, empowering and educating you in the process of shopping, following a recipe, tweaking a recipe, chopping and cooking the meal. It’s almost like following a bespoke recipe book.

At the start of the year a lot of us are committing to change. Somewhere by the middle of January, we’ve lost focused. We derail because we forget those goals. Life in the 2020’s is like that, full of distractions and scrolling and the social calendar might still be packed. This is when a bespoke diet plan will counter all the noise and keep you on track.

As a health coach, I can make you a diet plan that doesn’t focus on calorie counts, but rather focuses on portion sizes of natural foods that can fit in to your lifestyle goals. Is there such a thing as super-food?

Dear Reader,
You will have noticed that I haven’t put many pictures of fruit and vegetables on my website. Albeit: I’ve pictures up of delicious desserts and flamboyant, fancy coffee!

Depending on the occasion, they all are superfoods! Fruit and veggies, cake and coffee. Super food can be subjective.

Yes. Of course wellness and well-being are all about eating whole foods first. The primary sources of nutrition that are always superfoods are those grown in the sun, soil and on trees; that have been made with the help of birds, butterflies and bees.

If you sign-up for coaching sessions for any of of the problems mentioned on the mind-map, natural superfoods are what you will be eating.
No doubt.

However food is medicine. The poison is in the dose. And we are more than just a body. Coaching through a Being-Well lens means knowing when to have your cake guilt-free, because I know how hard it is to make switches in your diet when you eat for health’s sake. Giving up on your daily biscuit at tea time can be depressing. It weighs on your mental health. It can even lead to a tantrum.

If you learn not to gratify your desires instantly, and know the occasions of when you can have creamy, dreamy pudding, then temptations won’t govern your mind. Our sessions together will help train your mind to be patient by recognising your triggers and eat with intention to heal.
